Recipe: Meatball Sandwich with Mozzarella
Ingredients:
- 500g ground meat (beef or lamb)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning or thyme
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce (optional)
- 4 sandwich rolls (your preferred type)
- Oil for frying or baking

Prepare the Meatballs:
- In a large bowl, mix the ground meat with breadcrumbs, egg, shredded mozzarella, parsley, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning or thyme.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs about the size of a golf ball.

Fry or Bake the Meatballs:
- For frying: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the meatballs until golden brown and fully cooked inside.
- For baking: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), place the meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 20 minutes or until fully cooked.

Prepare the Sandwich:
- Toast the sandwich rolls in a skillet or oven until crispy.
- If using tomato sauce, spread a thin layer on each slice of bread.

Assemble the Sandwich:
- Place 2-3 meatballs in each roll.
- Optionally, add more shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs.
- Cover with the other slice of bread and serve warm.
